WEDDING IN APULIA

Wedding in Masseria Cervarolo, Ostuni (BR)

Masseria Cervarolo is a masseria with trulli, built in the 16th century, on a 250 mt. hill that dominates a vast and fertile plain 6 km from Ostuni. With its unique architectural style, the large spaces and its comfortable rooms will satisfy your every need.

Nestled in a relaxing hilly landscape near Ostuni, Masseria Cervarolo is a sixteenth-century farmhouse converted into an elegant country residence, today an important and refined wedding location.

The restoration work, which lasted more than five years, was carried out in absolute respect of the original Apulian architecture using materials recovered from the farmhouse itself: chianche, chiancarelle, blocks of limestone, etc. Furthermore, three rooms are located inside three trulli, the typical rural buildings of Puglia included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The legend of Masseria Cervarolo

Like many Apulian farmhouses, the buildings were built and changed over the centuries according to cultivation and production practices. The toponym ‘Cervarolo’ originates from the presence of deer on the last offshoots of the Murgia when they were covered by dense woodland (in italian “cervo” means “deer”).

Great importance is recognized to the artistic and cultural heritage, an example of which is the meticulous restoration of the 1798 church with a baroque altar and numerous frescoes, annexed to the Masseria.

Furthermore, legends are linked to the Masseria Cervarolo that have made it a place of pilgrimage for those seeking serenity. It is said that, in the area of the masseria, spring arrives a few weeks early and that the farmers in the surrounding area regulate agricultural activities by virtue of this “phenomenon”.

The rooms of Masseria Cervarolo

Housed in the typical Apulian trulli or inside the main building, the 17 rooms that make up Masseria Cervarolo reflect the simple and warm atmosphere of the time in which they were used for work or daily life, equipped with fabrics, curtains and furnishings typical of Puglia.

The newlyweds can stay in the Junior Suite, while guests can choose between Classic or Superior rooms, which differ in the generosity of the spaces and the attention to detail. Each room enjoys top-level comfort and services.

The structure also features an outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by rocks, and a splendid 17th century room with fireplace, used as a relaxation area.

Its favorable position on top of a hill allows you to enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape and this can only enhance the beauty of the two newlyweds who have just begun their life together. The Masseria is a perfect setting for taking spectacular photos under the recently renovated stone architectural features.

Traditional cuisine

The dream of giving new life to this ancient 16th century farmhouse took time and effort, but it succeeded in creating a structure of rare beauty, faithful to its historical origins in the materials and architectural layout, capable of making it a unique and rare location for organizing your wedding in Puglia.

At the disposal of the newlyweds and their guests, an open-view restaurant located inside a large Lamia, a typical Apulian building, able to offer typical dishes of the Apulian culinary tradition, revisited by Chef Salvatore Cannalire. The wedding lunch, always prepared according to local recipes and using zero-mile products, is accompanied by local wines, which will certainly make all the guests much happier.
